Bamberg
Also the green footprints from Bamberg will be present, as also this year the city’s Agenda 21 office was able to motivate pupils Bamberg’s primary schools to participate. Already since 2007, this successful project has been running in which children are covering their everyday ways in a climate friendly manner.
But before Climate Alliance will hand over the green footprints of all children as well as their wishes and demands to the climate politicians to the participants of the UN Climate Conference in Paris in December, Bamberg’s pupils officially presented their results at the town hall of the city of Bamberg.
Mayor Dr. Christian Lange, Ralf Haupt, the consultant of social security, regulatory and environment and Herbert Schütz , head of the Office for the Environment, invited the representatives of the participating schools and awarded them with a certificate as a reward for their commitment.
The children were realizing climate protection concretely and practically in their daily life and were also thinking about pros and cons of different means of transport and the concrete deficits on their ways to school.
The comments of the additional survey of the action “Traffic Detectives on the Move” are proving this: “I don’t like that so many cars are driving on Hauptsmoorstraße”, “Even when I am standing at the traffic light in red, I smell exhaust emissions”, “The cars are parking too near to the corners”, “More cross-walks”, “Cars should drive more slowly”, “The noise is disturbing”.
This year, the primary schools Gangolf-Grundschule, Grundschule Kaulberg and Luitpold-Grundschule have been participating in the european-wide action. All in all, 326 pupils from 16 classes participated.
Visibly impressed, mayor Dr. Christian Lange received the total result from Bamberg of 4,264 collected “green footprints” and thanked all participants for their commitment to climate protection.

Bubenreuth
Also this year, the children of primary school Bubenreuth participated, too and were busy collecting “muggel-“stones for the green footprints jar. The 8 classes collected 3,333 green footprints which were handed over to the mayor.

Grünenbach
With help of the actions „Healthy and Regional Lunch Sandwich” during 2 weeks, “Climate Protecting Way to School” and “Class Energy Controller are checking the lights, the waste separation and the dripping taps”, the class 2 b of primary school Grundschule Laubenberg in Grünenbach was able to collect 233 red, 425 green and 152 blue footprints.
The pupils designed the world map and their footprints made of paper as earth flower. The dots on that are their collected miles.
By participating in this campaign, they want to protect the climate and learn how to act in good time in a responsible and sustainable manner, so that there don’t have to be climate refugees and all people can live in their home country.
Lindau
In Lindau this year 111 children of three kinder gartens collected a total of 949 green footprints and handed over these to their Lord Mayor Dr. Ecker.

München
From 22 to 26 June 2015 the children of day-care center St. Gabriel in Munich Solm were on the move as small climate protection activists.
Their director wrote us:

Neuhaus
In the primary school Neuhaus a.d.Pegnitz, 4 classes participated and collected 873 green footprints.

Neumarkt
This year, schools from Neumarkt collected green footprints for the second time after 2011. This year, class 6a of secondary school Weinberger Straße and 4 a of primary school Holzheim, as well as the 4th grade of primary school Hasenheide were the most diligent ones. Lord Mayor Thomas Thumann appreciated the participating pupils as “Climate Ambassadors par excellence”. He handed over the certificated to the winner classes, who can look forward to make an excursion to the planetarium in Nuremberg. |

Pfaffenhofen
The „Kids on the Move“ campaign in Pfaffenhofen a. d. Ilm has been finished in July – the children were collecting footprints with enthusiasm. All in all, the children of the 7 day care centers in Pfaffenhofen collected 3,479 green footprints.
The campaign took place in the kindergarten groups in Pfaffenhofen from 29 June to 10 July. During a children’s party on the main square on Thursday, 16 July, the collected footprints were handed over to mayor Thomas Herker. As a reward for the dedicated participation, each child received a “medal” in the shape of a “foot gingerbread”. Furthermore, there was a great magician show by the magician Pierre Breno from Ingolstadt and a fruit picknick on the main square.

Weßling For two weeks, the children of the primary school Weßling have been busy collecting green footprints. Additionally they learned during class why it is important to deal with our environment and the climate. The campaign has made an impact: School crossing guards who are standing at the important crossings in Weßling reported that the number of pupils has raised by nearly one half.
