Bergisch Gladbach

 

The children at the FRÖBEL Family Centre ZAK have worked hard to protect the climate and collected Green Footprints.
They also went to the weekly market with a pedometer, where they only bought regional vegetables (Avticity 20 "A regional feast", ZOOM teaching guide p. 28).
They also organised a bobbycar race.
They were able to collect a total of 538 Green Footprints - congratulations! 



Bielefeld

 

This year again many children took part in the ZOOM campaign in Bielefeld.
From 22 schools and 10 kindergartens, a total of 5,690 small climate protectors participated.
With a result of 53,198 climate-friendly Footprints, they collected more than 2,000 Footprints more than last year. More children also took part! We are happy about the steady increase and congratulate to the impressive result! 





The hedgehog class at the Eichendorff School has also been busy collecting climate-friendly Footprints. During the project week, they learned with great zeal what climate change is and how their own routines can help the climate. They collected the results on a large billboard. All in all, the pupils of the hedgehog class collected a fantastic 340 Footprints! Congratulations!





Bochum

 

56 children from the classes 3a and 3b at the Don Bosco primary school in Bochum made a big effort for our climate: the collected 612 Green, 120 Red and 106 Blue Footprints. Moreover, they engaged with topics such as nutrition and garbage as they visited a local farmers market and recycled old bottles etc. in art class.



Bonn

 

In Bonn, many young climate protectors have been active who have eagerly collected Green Footprints in 15 different kindergartens and primary schools. 1,736 children took part and got a total of 25,462 Footprints! With these climate-friendly Footprints, they could theoretically travel directly from Bonn to Santiago de Chile and back. Congratulations for this outstanding result! Various topics such as mobility, flora and fauna and living in the future were thematized and worked on, as was captured in some pictures.

 

Among them, 200 students from 8 different classes from the primary school Münsterschule collected climate Footprints this year. They reached the sensational total of almost 5,000 Footprints (3,790 Green, 391 Red and 314 Blue Footprints) - Congratulations!

District of Höxter

 

In thirteen day care centers and four primary schools in the district of Höxter, Green Footprints were collected again. Together, the 1,133 children and 64 adults managed to collect 17,318 Green Footprints for the climate conference.

Compared to previous years, significantly more children took part in the campaign this year and together collected more Green Footprints than in four years - an encouraging trend for the Höxter district.

Once again this year, the children have been busy painting, tinkering and even holding small conferences on topics relevant to climate protection. The children from various institutions expressed their wishes to the politicians on their wishprints:
Less plastic, more animal welfare, more trees and clean air are just a few of these demands.










District Steinfurt

 

In the district of Steinfurt (Greven, Neuenkirchen, Lengerich, Steinfurt, Westerkappeln, Vreden, Ladbergen and Metelen) 19 kindergartens and schools have diligently collected miles. In addition, in some institutions the children wrote down their wishes on actual footprints:


"I wish the cars weren't allowed to drive so fast anymore."
"I want less packaging in supermarkets."


The children in the district of Steinfurt have many great and meaningful ideas for a green, sustainable future!

The 2,719 children were able to achieve an impressive result:
A total of 27,941 climate-friendly Footprints. With this number of Footprints, they could travel to Santiago de Chile and back in a climate-friendly way and still have a few Footprints left from the virtual trip! A really great performance to which we congratulate!












Delbrück

 

Two schools in Delbrück took part in the ZOOM campaign.
In the Johannes-Schule the 2nd classes collected 1.245 Green, 398 Red and 182 Blue Footprints. The children wrote their wishes and demands to the politicians on paper footprints. For example "buy more local fruits and vegetables" or "act now".


In the primary school Ostenland classes of the first to the fourth level took part. In total they could reach 1,032 Footprints!



The children and teachers of the schools were enthusiastic and motivated and could learn a lot during the project week about climate-friendly shopping with the focus on palm oil and plastic avoidance and also about the importance of the forest for the climate.
The enthusiasm is also carried home by the children, where they work on a more environmentally friendly awareness.

Simply great!  









Dormagen

 

From 26.09.-02.10. the primary school Burg in Hackenbroich took part in the ZOOM campaign. In order to reach more people with the campaign and also to involve the parents, the project week period was chosen to coincide with the open day. So the parents and their children were able to stick stickers for their climate-friendly way to school.
In the first classes, the focus was on regional fruit and they organised an apple workshop. All together, pupils were able to collect a total of 3,053 Green, 381 Red and 298 Blue Footprints. Congratulations on the total of 3732 Footprints! 



The 221 children from 9 different classes of the Erich-Kästner-Schule also paid attention to the climate!
In the week before the fall holidays, the children went to school in a climate-friendly way and collected Green Footprints.
For several years now we have been receiving the great results of the Erich Kästner pupils from Dormagen again and again, and next year they also want to take part in the ZOOM campaign once again. "Especially when we notice that the car is coming to the fore again," says the principal.
We are delighted about the great commitment at the school and congratulate them on the 1,604 Green Footprints. With this number of Footprints, they could cover the distance to Madrid (linear distance) in a climate-friendly way and contribute their ideas and wishes for a climate-friendly future to the COP 25 themselves.



Enger

 

Not only kindergartens and schools can take the initiative and become active in the ZOOM campaign. You can also earn environmentally friendly Footprints in your own family. In Enger, for example, a family with three children has collected 73 Footprints, 45 of which are Green, 18 Red and 10 Blue Footprints. "We were very happy to support the campaign and wish you good luck for the UN Climate Change Conference! We will continue to be active and improve step by step." We are happy about this great commitment! 



Greven

 

This year, the Josef Primary School, the Josef Kindergarten and Kinderland have dedicated themselves to the topic of mobility and climate protection. Green, Red and Blue Footprint were eagerly collected.
In the Josefschule, the 263 pupils together with their 15 teachers were able to collect fantastic 3,123 climate-friendly Footprints!
The 20 kindergarten children and their 2 carers from the Josef kindergarten collected a fantastic 300 Footprints.
The children in the Kinderland also made their contribution: the 49 children together with their 2 carers reached 580 Footprints - a great achievement!


The children in Greven collected a total of 4,003 Footprints and achieved a tremendous result with small steps in everyday life! 



Harsewinkel

 

The children of the DRK-Bewegungskita in Harsewinkel did quite a lot to collect their Footprints: apart from the typical measures like cycling they did different excursions. They visited a beekeeper, a regional farmers market, and walked to the post office. This way, they collected 252 Green and 52 Red Footprints. They documented everything in a nice portfolio, which also includes a questionaire for the parents.






 

The Kardinal-von-Galen-Schule in Harsewinkel has also been busy collecting climate-friendly Footprints this year. Altogether the students of different classes were able to collect 2,484 Green Footprints. But there is more to come!
With 302 pupils, the entire school was already represented at the international climate strike in March and is committed to a climate-friendly future! Everyone is highly motivated and is already planning further activities. Great commitment and super performance - keep up the good work! 






Hattingen

 

At the GGS Bruchfeld, all pupils took part in the ZOOM campaign.
The open day took place during the project week and was used as an opportunity to encourage parents and visitors to collect Green Footprints through interviews (Activity 4 "The journey to kindergarten/school in former times", ZOOM teaching guide p. 15).
In addition, an exhibition on the subject of climate and climate change was developed and presented.
The children and teachers have come up with some nice additional activities and we congratulate them on the 2,281 Green Footprints achieved! 



Herne

 

At the Michael school, all pupils of the 15 classes in total have diligently collected climate-friendly Footprints. 385 children who tried to be CO2-neutral on their way to school and back. This of course results in a lot of Green Footprints: all together they collected 2,835 Green Footprints, which are now on their way to Santiago de Chile. We congratulate to this fantastic result! 






Herzebrock-Clarholz

 

In the Catholic nursery St. Christina, 102 children campaigned for the climate and collected 1,640 Green Footprints within two weeks. We received a very proud message which stated:"Our children, aged two to six, didn't just come to the nursery by foot or bike, but also tested the waters saving electricity and buying rregional groceries at a farm and on the market."



Krefeld

 

1,187 children in the Krefeld urban area spent a week looking after their climate-friendly behaviour, collecting 17,275 Green Footprints, 421 Blue Footprints and 792 Red Footprints. That's a total of 18,498 Footprints! An outstanding result!
Among the participating institutions was the Paul Gerhardt School (UNESCO Project School), which also demonstrated on World Children's Day for a better climate. More information about the event can be found here.
We are very happy about the great commitment in Krefeld and hope that they will continue to have so much motivation to improve our climate.






Ladbergen

 

The children of the Marienschule Vreden stood up for our climate! The distances to the school were covered in a climate-friendly way and in addition, some attention was paid to regional nutrition or climate-friendly energy. In total, the 100 pupils and 4 teachers were able to reach 1,124 Green Footprints. With this number they could, for example, travel to Budapest in a climate-friendly way and get to know our Hungarian colleagues from the ZOOM campaign there. 



Lengerich

 

In Lengerich in the Steinfurt district, the Intrup primary school with 200 pupils and 8 teachers took part in the ZOOM campaign. Green Footprints were collected diligently on the way to school! And the result is impressive:  256 Footprints - great achievement! 



Leverkusen

 

In Leverkusen, 11 kindergartens and 9 schools took part in the ZOOM campaign. They were eager to focus on climate-friendly mobility, regional food and sustainable energy and collected stickers.


We were told: "In Leverkusen, 37,059 Green Footprints came together. More than ever before." With this number of Footprints, they have almost "circumnavigated" the world once.
We are pleased about the great response and congratulate to the outstanding result!

In addition, various projects have been carried out, such as producing apple juice themselves, harvesting and processing chard from the school garden and making wishprints.









Lohmar

 

For a total of seven days, the pupils of the Lohmar forest school collected Green, Red and Blue Footprints both before and after the autumn holidays. In addition, the children drew wishprints and formulated their wishes to the politicians.

"I ask you not to cut down the forests any more just to get some construction coal".

In total, the children from 11 different classes were able to collect 2,721 Green, 121 Red and 142 Blue Footprints. With a total of 2,984 climate-friendly Footprints, they could travel to Oshmiany, Belarus and back.  












Metelen

 

423 Footprints were collected step by step on the way to school by the 76 children in the St. Marien daycare centre together with their 4 carers. With this result, they could theoretically make an environmentally friendly trip to Berlin. 



Münster

 

In the kindergarten St. Martin 31 children from 4 different groups collected Footprints diligently. And it was worth it:
"The children and educators enjoyed the action week and as a conclusion it was stated that everyone can do something: The main thing is to simply start! And be it just to leave the car behind and walk to the daycare center."

In total they collected 288 Green Footprints, 87 Red Footprints and 69 Blue Footprints! Congratulations!



Nettersheim

 

In the kindergarten Tondorf many excursions were made on foot to collect Green Footprints. As a result, the 40 children and 5 teachers were also able to enjoy nature in the surrounding area much better. All in all, the group in Nettersheim-Tondorf achieved a great 287 Footprints from 29 April to 24 May. Of these, 102 are Green, 109 Red and 79 Blue Footprints. Congratulations for the great performance and the long stamina!



Neuenkirchen

 

The primary school association of the primary schools Josefschule and Thieschule could motivate all grades to be active for the climate. A total of 265 pupils and 12 teachers collected Green Footprints on their way to school and achieved a total of 2,479 climate-friendly Footprints! Congratulations on the impressive result! 



Paderborn

 

In Paderborn, both pupils from the Luther School and the Thule elementary school took part in this project. Together they collected several thousand Footprints: 4,218 Green Footprints, 968 Blue Footprints and 645 Red Footprints. That's a total of 5,831 climate-friendly Footprints!
Additionally pupils of the Luther School hung up posters and pinned their wishes and goals on them, or indicated their Footprints with colorful stickers. 





At the Bonifatius primary school, the children were also committed to the climate and took part in the ZOOM campaign.
From 2 September to 11 October, the primary school children in grades 2 to 4 collected Green Footprints. In addition to the climate-friendly paths on foot, by scooter or bicycle or by bus, the children wrote down their story of how they get to school- Additionally, they asked their family how they got to school when they were children and presented it to the class. With these actions, they developed the activities 1 and 4 of the section Mobility from the ZOOM teaching guide (see ZOOM teaching guide p. 13 ff.).
The pupils have collected a total of 2,846 Green Miles! A great result - congratulations!








Ratingen

 

Every day it became more and more Footprints. Green Footprints, Red Footprints and Blue Footprints.
For the second time, children from 5 different institutions in Ratingen took part in the ZOOM campaign and organized various activities during the project week.
Pupils from the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Gymnasium, Heinrich Schmitz School, Johann Peter Melchio School and Liebfrauen School and children from the kindergarten at the Schluchtor took part.


On the basis of the accompanying material, the subject of climate change was dealt with and what children already do better than adults was recorded. In addition, the children designed wishfeet. Altogether they offer a wide range of wishes, ideas and also possible fields of action for a better future. 











"No more spraying poison on the plants" - Elias wishes. Ben states: "We must do more to protect the climate" and proposes more solar cells for a sustainable energy supply.
The wishes concern mobility, energy, less CO2, more nature conservation, planting more trees, more animal welfare, sustainable shopping and much more.






As part of the municipal action programme for World Children's Day, the pupils of the Liebfrauen School handed over their collected miles and wishes to Mayor Klaus Pesch and thus reached local politics with their action.

We are enthusiastic about the variety of the campaigns and are pleased that the wishfeet and the beautifully designed posters were also sent to our office.
We congratulate to the collected 2,097 miles! (Which will be supplemented by the results of the Johann-Peter-Melchior-School).



Remscheid

 

In Remscheid, a total of 1,962 children from 13 different institutions took part in the ZOOM campaign. From April to June, the little climate heroes were very active and not only collected Green, Red and Blue Footprints, but also artistically designed their wishes for a better climate. Poems were written and ideas and wishes were illustrated on colourful footprints.

KGS Franziskus Location Lüttringhausen: 1,094 Footprints,
Heinrich Neumann School: 128 Footprints,

Röntgen High School: 6,975 Footprints.


That's a total of 28,977 Green Footprints. In addition, they collected 951 Red Footprints and 966 Blue Footprints. On July 8th there was a closing event on which the great overall result was announced. The children received a certificate from the Lord Mayor Burkhard Mast-Weisz for their exemplary commitment. With their collected Footprints they could not only travel one way directly to Santiago de Chile, but back again. During this long period, the first changes in the children's behaviour could be identified, which could possibly be maintained in the future. Props for the great performance! 




Solingen

 

Records were set at various levels in Solingen this year: More than 3,500 children from 31 different institutions collected Green Footprints this year. The result is also impressive; with almost 30,000 Footprints, the little climate heroes even surpassed their final score of 2018 with 700 more Footprints.

Mayor Bartsch praised the children at the closing ceremony for their commitment to the environment; for cycling, saving electricity and regional shopping.  








Steinfurt

 

In the district town of Steinfurt, the topic of climate-friendly mobility in everyday life was dealt with this year and green, red and blue stickers were stuck diligently into the albums. The results of the project week are impressive: the primary school association Grad-Ludwig-Schule/Willibordschule was able to collect 3,269 Footprints with 325 pupils and 20 teachers. The Adolph Kolping day care reached 98 Footprints with 46 children and 3 carers and the Bismarck School reached 477 climate-friendly Footprints with 123 pupils and 5 teachers.



Vreden

 

The children of the Marienschule Vreden stood up for our climate! The distances to the school were covered in a climate-friendly way and in addition, some attention was paid to regional nutrition or climate-friendly energy. In total, the 100 pupils and 4 teachers were able to reach 1,124 Footprints. With this number they could, for example, travel to Budapest in a climate-friendly way and get to know our Hungarian colleagues responsible for ZOOM campaign there. 



Westerkappeln

 

The five participating kindergartens - AWO Kita Am Königsteich 1, AWO Kita Am Königsteich 2, Family Centre St. Barbara, Protestant Family Centre Anne-Frank-Kiga, Protestant Family Centre Am Kapellenweg - presented the results of their ZOOM collection campaigns from Westerkappeln in the form of very lovingly designed posters.

Two other primary schools, Primary School Am Bullerdiek and Primary School Handarpe, have collected climate-friendly Footprints on their way to school. The total of 899 children in Westerkappeln together with their teachers and carers have collected great 15,530 Footprints! With this great result, they would come together to the UN Climate Conference in Santiago de Chile in a climate-friendly way. Simply great! 







"I wish that...

  • not so many cogarettes and lighters are thrown away
  • no plastic bags, no plastic toys and no plastic clothes pegs are bought
  • adults buy only producty from Germany
  • no cars running on gasoline are driven"

Wuppertal

 

17 schools from Wuppertal have made a strong commitment to the climate this year. The pupils paid attention to climate-friendly mobility, regional food and sustainable energy and collected stickers.


In total, all children from 115 different classes were able to collect 37,367 climate-friendly Footprints. The Footprints are enough to circle the earth once and not produce any pollutants. A really great result!
