Fürstenau

From 13 to 17 May, the 38 children in Katharina Kiga St. Katharina were on the road as little climate protectors and learned a lot about climate-friendly mobility, regional food and sustainable energy. The parents were also persuaded, for example, to accompany their children on their bicycles and were thus also climate protectors. The topic of plastics and its avoidance was also addressed in a campaign. The children in Fürstenau participated with a lot of commitment and motivation and we are happy about their contribution:
225 Green Footprints
54 Red Footprints
61 Blue Footprints
are now on their way to Madrid!

Hannover

More and more Green, Red and Blue Footprints gathered on the walls of the school corridor in the primary school Beuthener Straße. The children of the three first classes eagerly collected climate-friendly Footprints and stuck them not only on their sticker albums, but also on the corridors so everyone else could see the results. A great idea and motivation to follow the ever longer footpath. In addition, climate-friendly alternatives and wishes were crafted or painted and the path was thus decorated. This has even reached us in poster form in the office! All in all, the 67 pupils collected 1,661 Footprints - a great achievement!

As in the previous year, the children did not only ride bicycles, bought regional groceries and saved electricity, but they also dealt with topics such as animal welfare and recycling in their respective institutions. They documented their new insights, their wishes and demands to the responsible politicians on lovingly designed posters. In the Ev. Luth. Timotheus kindergaren, green cookies in the shape of a foot were baked as well.

The commitment of the children also impressed the adults, as the local authorities announced: "We are very proud of this result! The children were also congratulated by Mayor Wolfgang Griesert for this great achievement." Last but not least, there was a closing ceremony for the children at Osnabrück Zoo.

Ritterhude

The primary school Ihlpohl in the municipality Ritterhude was also inspired by the Fridays for Future movement and became active. Not only on 20.09., at the international climate strike, but every other Friday as well, the pupils and teachers collect garbage around the school. On 20.09. they also went into the surrounding forest to remove garbage from nature. At the place of a fallen tree, which became unstable due to the drought in summer, they have planted four new tree seedlings.
It is frightening what they find in the forest: not only plastic packaging, but also bottles, cigarette butts and even a hole in the ground, which is used as a small rubbish dump for old kitchen utensils such as pots and pans.
Their goal: to free their surroundings from garbage until their containers are empty one day. We think this action is great and that this commitment deserves special Footprints!
