Bad Homburg

At the primary school Dornholzhausen in Bad Homburg all 230 pupils and teachers were highly motivated and ran a project week "On foot to school" in the new school year. This opportunity was, of course, used to collect Green Footprints and other activities on the subject of mobility in the ZOOM campaign were also used.
"We all want to be climate protectors!" - under this motto a lot of commitment was shown! In the second classes, the children learned what will happen at the UN climate conference and why everyone of us can also take action. The fourth classes even made a small video to accompany the project week.
With great details, the pupils designed their footprints and symbolically depicted the way from Bad Homburg to Santiago de Chile.
In the coming year, they want to collect more Green Footprints during their Sustainability Week and carry out further activities and projects!

This is great feedback and we congratulate them on the 2,055 Green Footprints they have collected!

Friedrichsdorf

The Hardtwaldschule in Friedrichsdorf Seulberg is now one of the "old hands" in the ZOOM campaign. Since 2002, the pupils of all grades of the primary school have been taking part in the project, as they did this year from 16 to 22 September.
As always, the running action week "On foot to school" Collecting Green Footprints was a great success: the 345 pupils from 17 different classes collected a total of 4,421 Green Footprints! This is even more than last year's result and compared to the first year 2002 they collected almost 800 Green Footprints more. We are happy about the long-term and constant commitment and of course the children's laudable zeal!

Also at the Burgholzhausen school in Friedrichsdorf some classes have set out for a better climate. Every day, stickers were collected to reward climate-friendly mobility decisions.

Together, the children were able to collect 1,811 Green Footprints. With this amount of Green Footprints they could travel climate friendly to Madrid, where the UN Climate Change Conference will take place this year. A really great achievement!

Heppenheim

On 30th of August, more than 500 pupils from the Schloss-Schule, Konrad-Adenauer-Schule and the 5th grade of the Starkenburg-Gymnasium met on the market square in Heppenheim. In front of the town hall, colourful posters, singing and lots of motivation were used to announce the start of the ZOOM project. Mayor Rainer Burelbach and Managing Director of Climate Alliance Thomas Brose were also present and praised the children's commitment and plans.
The children from Heppenheim turned words into action: a total of 590 pupils took part and collected a remarkable 8,028 Green Footprints. Two weeks after the grand opening, these were personally presented to Thomas Brose and are now on their way to the climate conference, so to speak. Congratulations for this great achievement!

But not enough: the classes of the Eichendorff School also took part in the ZOOM campaign. Unfortunately, the 3rd grade pupils discovered a lot of plastic waste during their excursion to a stream. Another action is still being carried out: the climate breakfast, during which all kinds of regional, seasonal, plastic-free delicacies are served. The children were able to collect a total of 1,287 climate-friendly Footprints!

Hungen

In the shepherd town Hungen, the primary school Mittelpunkt and two other kindergartens took part in the ZOOM campagne.
The 330 children from 11 groups/classes achieved a great result: 2.852 Green Footprints, 44 Red Footprints and 22 Blue Footprints!

With this result the children could travel climate-friendly to Orimattila, Finland, where this year for the first time children collect Green Footprints. On the way they could visit our colleagues and other "Kids on the Move" from Poland and Estonia!

Congratulations on this great result!

Lampertheim

This year in Lampertheim, the ZOOM campaign had an important anniversary to celebrate: the children from Lampertheim took part in the campaign for the tenth time, with a total of 1,329 small climate savers from eight different institutions. With their combined efforts, they achieved the fantastic total of 43,287 Green Footprints!

At the festive closing ceremony, the children not only handed over the documentation of their results in form of self-designed posters to the Mayor of Lampertheim, Gottfried Störmer, but also performed a play they had written themselves.

Congratulations on this great effort!!!

Offenbach

In Offenbach the children from 6 primary schools and one kindergarten were active for a better climate!

A total of 2,359 little climate protectors participated and paid attention to climate-friendly mobility, regional food and sustainable energy.

And the result is impressive: 28,550 climate-friendly Footprints come from Offenbach to Madrid! With this number of Footprints, they could travel to Santigo de Chile, where the UN Climate Change Conference originally took place, and even back again.

Raunheim

The children in Raunheim were very active and committed during the project week and could take part in various activities. We were told:

"From 11 to 14 June 2019 all 32 classes with 750 pupils took part under the motto "My Raunheim, the climate and me". The individual classes focused on topics such as nutrition, waste, plastic avoidance, biodiversity and energy. Common actions were collecting Green Footprints, painting of own Fair-trade carrier bags, visit of the interactive exhibition "How we want to live - Active! Sustainable! Climate friendly" and the collection of "lids against polio" (21,000 pieces or 42 vaccinations).

The schooly developed climate mascot was the connecting element.

The results of the project week were presented to the school, parents and other interested parties on Friday afternoon. A total of 1,800 people took part. Among many other things, a valuable rap was developed, fruit trees planted, seed bombs sold, games developed and much more."

Congratulations on the 7,600 climate-friendly Footprints collected!

Reichelsheim

75 pupils, 8 teachers and a staff of 10 people in the daycare center have collected Green Footprints, the Rector writes:

"Everyone participated with eagerness and we found new supporters, especially among the children of the 1st year of school attendance, now they walk to school and where they meet friends in their free time.

We conducted the ZOOM campaign at the beginning of May 2019 as part of our sustainability project week "Enough for everyone forever" and the associated school campaign day (further information).
In addition, last year we received an award as a school of sustainability for our entire concept of education for sustainable development.
According to our guiding principle "Only those who appreciate something also protect it", we focus on action- and project-oriented learning, have a school teaching garden with raised beds, a spiral of herbs, various fruit bushes, a scented garden, a wild bee nesting wall and a wild flower meadow, a "green corner", a butterfly meadow, a small pond, bird nesting boxes and a school meadow with apple trees to name but a few.

We wish you continued vigour and good luck, thank you for your commitment and your role model!
We are on our way and there will be more and more joining".
