Chile

This year some Chilean teens from Liceo Tajamar (high school) wanted to join the Green Footprints campaign handover in Santiago de Chile during the UN Climate Change Congerence.

Earlier this year, the students planned to dedicate a whole week to learn more about and dig deeper into the topic of climate, climate change and it's consequences. The upcoming political riots, demonstrations and various conflicts in the capital but also in the whole country, put the project week as well as the participation at the handover during the UN Climate Change Conference in the background for the moment. In the following the venue was moved to Madrid due to the riots which is why the girls couldn't present the results of the Green Footprints campaign anymore.

Luckily they still found time to write down their hopes and wishes for a better, more sustainable future and also a letter to the participants at the COP 25 which they planned to handover as well.

Both during biology and english lessons the cildren had the opportunity to think about the change they want to see in this world and created their own posters about their whishes and demands to the politicians at the COP 25. Some of them are:

"Promote the consumption of local products with a lower carbon footprint"

"reduce the sale of fishing nets"

"reduce consumption of meat from cattle raising"

"buy returnable or glass containers"

"use public transportation to reduce air pollution"

"queremos más cosas buiólogicas y menos plástico"

"queremos más reciclaje en la ciudad"

"queremos más áreas verdes y menos edificios"

"La tierra no es nuestra - nosotros somos de la tierra."

"The earth is not ours - we are from the the earth"
