Bretten

In Bretten, the Catholic daycare center St. Elisabeth was at the start for the first time and with 45 children in two groups not only diligently collected children's miles, but also made a huge poster!

In a letter to Climate Alliance, they write:

"45 children collected 1336 miles over a period of 3 weeks. Thanks to the help and commitment of the parents, we did not use the car wherever possible. Even on weekends, the car was left behind and so a lot was done and discovered on foot - climate protection can also be fun!"

Dornstadt

Despite these difficult circumstances in 2020, the kids from Dornstadt could collect overall 832 green miles for protecting the climate. The kids send a strong signal that the need for climate action is still urgent during this pandemic and the most important challenge we will face in the upcoming years.

Geislingen-Aufhausen

The children of the "Villa Sonnenschein" kindergarten were able to collect 1440 miles. In doing so, they explored on a hike how long each child would need to walk to kindergarten. The facility already pays a lot of attention to sustainability. Once a week, the children cook together with seasonal vegetables from their own kindergarten garden. The facility's director Marianne Witziok about "ZOOM Kids on the move":

"It was a very exciting project with many actions that we implemented. I hope that it will have a lasting effect on the children and parents, or at least that some of the seeds we have sown will sprout. Thank you for the great homepage with the many impulses and idea modules and your commitment."

The children were also enthusiastic:

"We are collecting children's miles right now. We are environmentalists and world changers. We look at where each child lives and how far it is to kindergarten and how long it takes to walk."

Gottenheim

The first attempt of the elementary school in Gottenheim was, as for so many, a victim of the lockdown in spring. But in October, they took part in our climate protection campaign for the first time and really went for it with their 90 children in 5 classes:
Together with their parents and siblings and with the support of the teachers and the house keeper, they collected 1586 miles!

In addition to the topic of safe travel to school, they have dealt with the issues of standby and regional food and presented their findings on climate change and climate protection in a wonderful poster exhibition.
The children in the fourth grade also developed a questionnaire for Climate Miles Week.

As a grand finale, a small group of students - of course, completely Corona-compliant with distance and mask - were able to present the results of their action week together with their climate wish feet to their mayor.

Remchingen

The Bertha-Benz School in Nöttingen was busy collecting Green Footprints for three weeks in November. The 108 students in their 7 classes collected a total of 2,857 miles and sent us their wish feet with their demands on climate action.

Reutlingen

This year, despite the covid-19 circumstances, also in Reutlingen a few facilities took part at the Kid's On The Move campaign and collected Green Footprints. Originally, more children should collect, but nethertheless 226 children earned 2.037 Green Footprints. Great!

The climate protecting manager of the city Reutlingen, Ralf Bültge-Bohla, lets us know:

"We also plant a closing action, but unfurtunately it failed [beacuse of covid-19]."
