Hungary

In Hungary this year 15.999 children as well as 1.431 teachers in 68 schools and kindergardens were engaged.

During their weeks of  climate action in September and October, the children tackled the topic of biodiversity, talked about plants and bees in their city and took a close look at their food to find out how well it meets the climate-friendly aspects of eating seasonally and vegetarian. Furthermore, they planted trees.

This led to a total of 246,342 Climate Footprints, divided as in the following categories:

116,357 Green Footprints for environmentally friendly mobility
68,224 Red Footprints for seasonal and vegetarian food
52,011 Eco-friendly Footprints for various local actions
9,750 Extra Footprints for 390 planted trees
