Belarus

2021 is the sixth time for Belarus that children have participated in the ZOOM Campaign with great joy and zest for action and have run around 4,000 Green Footprints for the climate.

There are 26 schools and kindergartens with about 283 children from nine cities and districts, including Karma, Ashmianv, Kobrin, Kalinkavichy, Smarhon, Navapolatsk, Garadok, Pruzhany and Baranavichy.
Here the children trusted their own feet for the campaign, got on bicycles more often, rode scooters or skateboards around the neighborhood and from A to B.

This year's campaign materials were translated into Russian by the "Interakcia Foundation" to make it easier for participating institutions to use them.

During the campaign period, children wrote poems about climate, created posters, joined the symbolic climate journey around the world to learn more about climate, its challenges and differences in each country.

Planting more trees; saving energy; saving water; reusing and sharing things instead of always buying new things and throwing away the old ones; these were just some of the ideas the children had to help the climate.

Overall the kids had fun and learned a lot of new things about the climate.
Their families and schools/kindergartens were happy to save quite some money for not used electricity, water and gas.

The partens enjoyed spending more time with their children and felt well engaged when helping their kids to collect Green Footprints or to do activities.

Some parents felt uncomfortable abandoning their car for an entire week, but overall, they said they also learned a lot about the climate during this time.

Gorodok

-    In Kindergarten No 2 there were 22 children ambitiosly collecting 308 green and 44 blue footprints for the climate.

The kids and their teachers are thinking of making  a Climate Day each Thursday trying not to use private cars all day long with the whole family.

Khoreva

What are the possibilities to become active and help the climate, how and where do you start? The fourth graders from Khoreva in the Pruzhany district have dealt with this questions and phrased their ideas as poems.

They also decided to designe a climate protection calendar for 2022 as a gift to all the children in their school for the new (school) year - what a great idea!
