Kirkel
From 10-04-2021 to 10-10-2021, the pupils of the Kirkel-Neuhäusel elementary school collected 2,271 Green Footprints.
The children received 1,287 Green Footprints for climate-friendly travel. Green Footprints are collected by walking or traveling by bicycle, scooter or skateboard. If the route is a bit longer, it is certainly possible to use public transport. It is important not only to reduce unnecessary car traffic, but also that children learn to travel independently. The children received 621 Red Footprints for regional, seasonal and vegetarian food and 363 Blue Footprints for energy-saving measures. A super result!
Saarbrücken
In September, 180 childs from 8 classes of Saarbrücken-Scheid all-day school collected 2,855 Green Footprints. This included 1,792 Green Footprints, 588 Red Footprints and 475 Blue Footprints.
The Saarbrücken-Ost elementary school participated in the campaign with twelve classes and 246 children. They collected 2,944 Green Footprints, 551 Red Footprints and 324 Blue Footprints, thus achieving a total of 3,819 Footprints.
The children wrote a song about climate change and the opportunity for children do to something against. Below you will see a exerpt:
"(...) Warum ist in meiner Straße nie ruh', jeden Tag stinken die Autos uns zu (...) Wer kann das denn jetzt noch ändern? (...) Warum nimmt Kinder denn kaum einer ernst? (...) Du kannst das ändern, denn Du bst ein Held, komm', wir verändern die Welt! (...) Ich kann das ändern, denn ich bin ein Held, komm', wir verändern die Welt!"
"Why never aren't the streets silence, every day the cars are stinking to us (...) Who is still able to change this? (...) Why no one takes children serios? (...) You can change this because you are a hero, come, we are changing the world! (...) I can change this because I am a hero, let's go, we are changing the world!"
