Baden-Württemberg

Allensbach

Both elementary schools and the pre-schools Höhrenberg, Kaltbrunn, Montessori, and St. Nikolaus eagerly collected miles this year. All together, 335 children contributed to a total of 6807 miles. They were then able to present this result and their posters to the mayor and the district council during an event that took place for the first time since the pandemic. The patrol children deserve a special mention, as they alone contributed to 2,618 of the green miles. The total mileage achieved by the participants in Allensbach is more than enough to cover the distance to Sharm-el-Sheikh, the location of this year's climate conference. The children would have made it all the way to southern Yemen!

BACKNANG

The evangelical kindergarten in Steinbach participated this year with 45 children and collected 464 green fooptints during their 'forest week' in June. They sent us a brief report on their activities and many "climate footprints" on which the children expressed their wishes to the adults.

The team shared with us:
"We had a lot of fun during the campaign and are proud to be part of this Green Footprints collection. As the saying goes: Many little people in many little places can change the face of the world."

Neuenburg am Rhein

This year, the nature day-care "Grüne Insel" once again collected green miles. The campagin took place from July 11th to 29th. By the end, the children had collected 97 miles.

To keep track of their miles, the group used the same method as least year - instead of putting stickers in the collection album, each child receivd a green stone for every mile they covered. The total number of green stones in the day-care is now increasing year by year, and allows lots of creative activities. For instance, this year the older children were challenged to measure the length of the row of newly added rocks, and to count their total  number. Every group of ten rocks yielded one piece of yellow fabric.

Remshalden

17 children from the pre-school Rohrbrunn in Remshalden collected miles in this year's round of the Kids for Cliamte campaign for the climate conference in Sharm El-Sheikh.

239 miles were compiled during the collection period, split into 185 green miles for mobility, 33 red miles for food, and 21 blue miles for energy saving.

Pre-school head Ms. Frank wrote: "The kids were very interested and had lots of fun participating in the project. We dug deeper into the topic by means of conversations, creative offerings, games and stories". It is great to see that your institution puts such an emphasis on climate protection and sustainability!

Riegel

Following the pleasure and motivation of collecting miles in 2021, it was time to repeat the Kids for Climate campaign in Riegel this year.

From June 20th to 24th, six children of the forest pre-school gathered miles for environmentally friendly behavior. By the end, 54 green miles for mobility and one red mile for a climate-friendly meal were recorded.
