Hessen

Bad Homburg

The day-care Eschbachtal enthusiastically took part in this year's Kids for Climate project. 100 children from four groups counted miles, resulting in 190 green and 891 red miles in the end. While the green miles were earned by coming to day-care on foot or by bike or scooter, the red miles were awarded for home-grown fruits and vegetables.

The miles were communally collected on posters. We'd be happy to welcome the day-care Eschbachtal to our campaign again next year!

Bürstadt

During their project week in June, the young climate protectors of the elementary school Schillerschule in Bürstadt collected 5,080 green miles. Children from the preparatory class, as well as from grades 1 through 3 participated in the campaign. Their great result was achieved by using public transport, by walking, cycling, scootering and skateboarding.

Heppenheim

Long-year participants of the Kids for Climate campaign in Heppenheim, namely the elementary schools Eichendorffschule and Schloss-Schule, were part of the project in 2022 as well.

Eichendorffschule held the climate week from September 26th to 30th. Seven classes from all grades 1 through 4 participated, and compiled a total of 1,714 miles. To keep track of the miles, each student filled their own climate mile record on a daily basis.

Schloss-Schule had roughly 200 students count miles for the campaign. By the end of the week, they had gathered 3,278 in total. Here too, clasess from grades 1 through 4 were part of the effort. The great result was announced in front of the entire school community.

Taken together, Heppenheim collected 4,992 miles, which we will take to this year's climate conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Thank you very much for your contributions, which really are praiseworthy, as so often!

Lampertheim

Following last year's anniversary of the Kids for Climate campaign in Lampertheim, 2022 was the 11th time children across the city collected miles. 1,144 children from the three day-cares "Am Graben", "Rosenstock", and "Hofheim" as well as the four elementary schools Pestalozzischule, Goetheschule, Schillerschule and Nibelungenschule took part.

This large number of participants meant that by the end of the collection time frame, which lasted from May 9th to June 3rd, an incredible total of 34,266 green miles could be passed on. Congratulations!

Viernheim

In 2022, children of the elementary school Schillerschule collected climate-friendly miles. All together, the children's activity resulted in 2,416 green miles. This great result will be included in the total mile count presented at the Climate Conference in Sharm El-Sheik in November.
