Humes
This year was the first time the day-care Maria Himmelfahrt in Humes took part in collecting miles. During the week of July 4th-8th, the children gathered 371 green, 45 red and 31 blue miles.
In their group, the kids designed paper footprints containing their wishes and demands for national environmental politicians. They also created posters, which were presented in the day care along with photos of the campaign week to raise awareness among the public for the importance of climate protection.
In conclusion, it was remarked that the children set a good example actively collecting miles while protecting the world climate, while adults were continuing to negociate. The future of the young climate protectors shall not be endangered!

Riegelsberg
The day-care Buchschachen in Riegelsberg also collected miles for the Kids for Climate campaign this year. Twenty of the older children from three different groups joined in to count green miles. One of these was achieved every time a child travelled environmentally friendly, be it on foot, by bike, scooter, bus or train. In the end the total amount of miles was counted, and turned out to be 25. We will take these miles along with all of the miles collected in other towns to Egypt, were we will present them during the climate conference in Sharm El-Sheikh this November. Sulzbach/Saar
2022 marked the first time the elementary school Mellinschule from Sulzbach/Saar took part in the Kids for Climate campaign. Twelve classes sent us their results, which made us very happy.
The final mile count of the young Sulzbachers is 2,451 miles. 1,860 of those are green miles for climate-friendly mobility to and from school, 309 are red miles for regional and seasonal food choices, and 282 are blue miles for saving energy.
