In Hungary 'Reflex Environmental Association' and the Hungarian Climate Alliance  together with further Partners announced the campaign „Kids on the move for climate Action 2014”. In their activity week, announced for October 13th - 17th, 10,213 children from 67 schools ZOOMed in and collected a total of 89,213 Green Footprints.

The coordinator wrote us about the daily action, that was asked from the participants during the activity week:

  • 1st day: "Pledges of my family for protecting the climate" - there was a short self-evaluation sheet for the whole family. They could sit together and think their everyday life through how environment friendly they are, and make their pledges for changes.
  • 2nd day: Counting the ecological footprint with the help of an online programme. Drawing an ecological footprint.
  • 3rd day: Planning an eye-catching/attention-getting action for climate/environment protection
  • 4th day:  "How long has my favourite chocholate bar travelled" - they had to look after where the ingerdients of their chocholate came from, where the chocholate was made, the process of making chocolate from the cocoa bean, etc.
  • 5th day: Implementation of the action planned on the 3rd day

As the Action from the first day was paper based, we are still working up the answer sheets."
