Speyer

The Löwenzahn daycare center has hung up the entire stairway with its posters for the Kids on the Move campaign. What an eye-catcher!The other pictures come from the Woogbachschule and show the overview of the collected Green Footprints. Together, the two institutions were not only busy creating, but they also covered a long distance in a climate-friendly way - 3,698 Green Footprints! How great!

Trier

The Children's Footprints Campaign took place in Trier for the twelfth time, spanning from September 18th to September 22nd, 2023, coinciding with the nationwide Mobility Week. The event was organized by the Local Agenda 21 Trier e.V., ADD Trier, and Broadway Filmtheater, as in previous years. Children from elementary schools including Trier-Irsch, Trier-Quint, Trier-Feyen, Trier-Barbara, as well as the St. Martin and Wichernhaus daycare centers, and Mariahof after-school care, collectively gathered 10,760 green footprints. Over 800 children participated in the campaign, gaining firsthand experience of the benefits of a car-free environment.

For example, Gregor-von-Pfalzel Primary School in Trier, classes 1-4, took part in this year's Green Footprints campaign. The 116 students earned an impressive total of 1464 green footprints, 421 red footprints, and 167 blue footprints. Well done!

The culminating event took place on September 27th at Broadway Filmtheater, attended by a delegation of approximately 20-30 children from each participating institution. "It's always inspiring to see the dedication with which the children and teachers participate in the campaign," remarked Julia Koch from ADD.

During the event, the children presented Mayor Elvira Garbes with their collected footprints through creatively designed posters and expressed their hopes for a sustainable future in Trier. The total number of footprints will be sent to the European Climate Alliance in Frankfurt. These green footprints, contributed by children from across Europe, will be presented at the upcoming UN Climate Conference in Dubai in December 2023, representing the children of Europe's contribution to global climate protection.
