BAD SEGEBERG
At the Christiansfeld daycare centre in Bad Segeberg, around 100 children in seven groups took part this year and worked hard to collect children's miles for the 30th UN Climate Change Conference in Belém.
During their collection week at the beginning of August, they collectively achieved 238 green miles for climate-friendly mobility, 84 red miles for everything related to climate protection on their own plates, and 26 blue energy-saving miles. This brings their total to 348 children's miles.

BREDENBEK
Successful Children's Footprints collection at Bredenbek Primary School
This year, Bredenbek Primary School once again deliberately decided not to use collection booklets and sticker sheets during the collection weeks in order to focus on sustainable climate protection.
The results are impressive: a total of 94 children in four classes collected 1,282 Green Footprints , even more than last year.
They sent their demands for climate policy to Belém on colourful wish feet.

KALTENKIRCHEN
In Kaltenkirchen, three primary schools and one comprehensive school participated enthusiastically in 2025, collecting miles together. The schools publicly presented the miles collected by the summer on posters at the town festival and ceremoniously handed them over to the town. Specifically, these were:
Flottkamp Primary School 4,921 Green Footprints 400 children
Lakweg Primary School 14,628 Green Footprints 368 children
Alter Landweg Primary School 2,160 Green Footprints 214 children
Am Marschweg Community School 1,178 Green Footprints 199 children
Together, the four schools contributed 22,887 Climate Footprints – an impressive total. Many thanks to all the little climate protectors!

Kiel
In 2025, 20 schools in Kiel took part in the Children's Miles campaign and collected Green Miles in a very sustainable way using the mileage stamps specially produced by the city.
In the institutions, around 3,700 children from 170 classes stamped their climate-friendly journeys every day – many of them again on the group poster specially designed for this purpose –Gruppenplakat
and thus contributed a total of 26,173 children's miles to the final result – thank you very much!
TRITTAU
Our new group collection poster, which we were able to develop last year thanks to support from Kiel, was put to use at the BilleBande daycare centre in Trittau. Between 14 April and 25 April 2025, the 15 children collected a total of 60 miles and sent us their beautiful wish feet to protect the Earth – thank you very much!

WEDEL
Once again this year, the Klimafrösche daycare centers from Wedel actively campaigned for climate protection. As part of the Climate Alliance's nationwide campaign "Green Footprints – Kid#S On The Move” the children diligently collected Green Footprints. They made climate-friendly journeys on foot, by bike, or by public transport, shopped locally, and saved energy. In doing so, they showed how important it is to commit to protecting the environment from a young age.
The campaign was a complete success: in total, the daycare centers collected an impressive 2,878 Green Footprints. The daycare teams and families also actively participated by collecting additional kilometers in the Climate Alliance's City Cycling project. The joint commitment of the entire daycare community shows that climate protection is not just the responsibility of adults, but that children and families can make a big contribution together.
The “Klimafrösche – Wedel's daycare centers active in climate protection" project goes beyond the action week and has been dedicated to important topics such as nutrition, waste, consumption, and biodiversity since 2018. The focus is on protecting resources, and the daycare centers are working hard to make their everyday activities sustainable. Through cooperation between the city of Wedel and the S.O.F. Save Our Future – Environmental Foundation, the diverse contributions of the daycare centers have been promoted and networked. More informations: save-our-future.de/klimafrösche
This commitment shows how important and valuable early childhood education is in the area of climate protection. The Klimafrösche daycare centers from Wedel not only make an active contribution to sustainability but also inspire others to join in. Together, they are setting a strong example for the future and future generations. The success of the Kids On The Move campaign is an example of how small steps can make a big difference.
