HUMES
The Catholic daycare centre Maria Himmelfahrt in Humes was once again very active this year and was able to collect many green miles thanks to numerous activities with the children and their families.
The Climate Miles project has become an integral part of their educational work and is firmly anchored in the daycare centre's daily routine. Their focus is on family work and involving external community members.
Next year, they naturally want to take part in the campaign again and in future also encourage citizens of the community, the local council chairman, the mayor and other political representatives to participate in their campaign – we call these ambitious plans, which we are of course happy to support!
The nursery management wrote to us:
"We are proud that we have been able to motivate children and their parents and families to think about the future and make an important contribution to climate protection together. Our goal is to raise awareness of sustainable living among even the youngest children in a playful way.
We very much hope to be part of the Kindermeilen campaign again next year – for more creative projects and a strong joint commitment to climate protection."

SAARBRÜCKEN
This year, the ‘Little Climate Protectors on the Move’ project took place at Scheidt Primary School from 22 to 28 September. During their climate week, the eight classes collected a total of 2,254 children's miles – congratulations!
The total number of miles will continue to be displayed as a corresponding number of green, red and blue beads filled into a tube and exhibited in the school stairwell. This will remind the children of their commitment to the climate for a long time to come and hopefully motivate them to continue their climate-friendly behaviour on a daily basis.
