ALLENSBACH
Right on the shores of Lake Constance, the children were busy collecting again this year: 194 young climate advocates from 5 schools collectively raised 1,885 miles for climate protection!
The posters they designed themselves were ceremoniously presented to the town council and the mayor - a wonderful sign of how seriously the children take their message for climate protection.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in Allensbach - see you next year!
ALTHÜTTE
The Kunterbunt preschool and the Farbennest daycare center together racked up an impressive 449 miles during their action week. What a great result!
With great enthusiasm, the children traveled in climate-friendly ways, leaving their cars at home and coming on foot, by bike, scooter, or bus—the bike rack in front of the facility was absolutely full.
They also learned about regional foods, waste sorting, and energy conservation.
The children explored, in a playful way, the journey an apple takes, and learned how to avoid waste even while shopping. Empty yogurt cups, corks, and bottle caps were turned into great play materials. They also took a close look at the difference between everyday situations with and without electricity.
Thank you to everyone involved in Althütte. We’re already looking forward to seeing you next year!
The town of Bad Wurzach also participated in the “Kindermeilen” with great enthusiasm!
Children from kindergartens and elementary schools worked hard together to collect points and can be truly proud of their results.
A heartfelt thank you to all 352 little climate protectors from Bad Wurzach!
A total of an impressive 1,850 miles were collected.
At the Sonnentau preschool, the entire week was themed “Little Climate Savers.” Despite the rainy weather, many children came to preschool with their parents on foot, by bike, balance bike, or scooter; some even collected additional kilometers in the afternoons and on weekends. In the entrance area, the children displayed their car-free journeys on a sticker poster they designed themselves, collectively reaching 55 miles.
At Eintürnen Elementary School, too, everything revolved around sustainability, climate protection, and physical activity for three days. Students in grades 1 through 4 engaged in hands-on activities through various workshops and projects to learn about the responsible use of nature and resources, including topics such as food and food banks, as well as recycling and upcycling. During a group bike ride, the children clearly didn’t hold back, pedaling with all their might.
Thank you to all the children, parents, educators, and teachers in Bad Wurzach for this wonderful commitment!
In Pfullingen, 50 students from the Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium took part in this year’s “Kindermeilen” campaign. During the collection week, they traveled their routes in climate-friendly ways and collected a total of 1,115 miles for the global climate. Many thanks to everyone involved for their dedication!
In addition to collecting miles, the campaign was also used as an opportunity for creativity: The students designed colorful “wish feet” on which they expressed their demands and concerns regarding climate protection to policymakers. To represent the many important issues raised, we’ve selected two quotes from the students:
“In the future, I want to think about the world and be proud that I’m here.”
“I want a safe future without environmental pollution and without all the hatred in the world.”
We’re delighted by the commitment shown by the students at Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium and look forward to their participation next year!
Purzelbaum Daycare Center & Kinderhaus am Schloss
Big climate action and awesome posters at the Schorndorf daycare centers!
From April 13 to April 24, the motto at the Purzelbaum Daycare Center was: “Get moving and rack up those miles!” For two weeks, a total of 30 hardworking children there were out and about as little climate protectors and together achieved a fantastic result: they collected 547 miles for the environment!
But they weren’t the only ones taking action: Kinderhaus am Schloss also participated with great enthusiasm! The children there also worked hard to collect miles and showed just how much team spirit they have. They even planted their very own regional “herb garden”!
To go along with the campaign, the children from both centers designed beautiful, colorful posters!
A huge thank you to everyone - young and old - at the Purzelbaum Children’s Center and the Kinderhaus am Schloss for this wonderful effort and the creative posters.
You are true role models in everyday life!
