The Hagenberg Elementary School in Bad Iburg really made great strides this year!
189 children from 10 classes collected 2,089 Green Miles, plus 631 Red Miles and 519 Blue Miles. That adds up to 3,239 miles!
The classes also sent “wish feet” to politicians so that their ideas for greater climate protection would reach them as well.
Many thanks to all the children and teachers! We look forward to seeing you next year!
The Hümmling Energy Region made great strides this year! Ten elementary schools from the region participated and collectively earned 24,028 Green Miles. Behind these numbers are 1,667 children who diligently got around on foot, by bike, or by scooter!
The Bernhardschule Sögel racked up the most miles with 4,987, closely followed by the Werlte Elementary School with 3,955. The Erna-de-Vries-Schule Lathen came in third with 3,412 miles.
The results from the smaller schools are also impressive:
The 48 children at the Fresenburg Elementary School collected an impressive 1,513 miles in just two weeks (September 28 to October 9); in Vrees, a total of 1,366 miles were collected; and in Ober-Niederlangen, 96 children even managed to collect an amazing 2,422 miles.
The results from Süd Hümmling Elementary School reached us this year just before the climate conference. A total of 133 children collected an impressive 3,089 miles, which we’ll definitely be taking with us to Antalya!
We’re already looking forward to the next time! Many thanks to the Hümmling Energy Region!
HESEL
In the Hesel joint municipality, two institutions participated in the “Kindermeilen” campaign this year.
Hesel Elementary School collected 301 green miles. Of course, we don’t want to keep the creative posters and beautiful photos—taken during the campaign weeks and at the local mile-award ceremony—from you.
