During the "Green Footprints Action Week" from September 25 to October 1, 100 students from OOU "Jan Amos Komenski“- Karposh, Skopje, North Macedonia, collected an impressive 9,943 Зелени Стапалчиња (Green Footprints).
Under the banner "Let's fall in love with planet Earth to keep nature healthy and clean," the students embraced a variety of eco-friendly initiatives. They actively promoted the use of renewable transportation, such as bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, and walking, throughout the week. Beyond these practical steps, the students undertook creative endeavors, leaving messages on cars in the school's surroundings, crafting drawings, composing songs, and creating artwork to adorn their classrooms.
In their roles as responsible community members, the students delved into discussions aimed at inspiring fellow citizens to care for the environment. Their initiatives ranged from discouraging waste dumping and promoting waste separation to encouraging more tree planting.
A highlight of the week was the Eco Parade organized in the vicinity, where the students effectively communicated messages advocating support and collaboration for a healthier environment. Along the route from home to school, they pinpointed key areas of environmental concern. The week concluded with a compelling speech in the school parliament, where the students shared their impressions of the activities and emphasized the ongoing need for environmental awareness in their actions.
